My name is Evelyn Garcia, and I am a first-generation graduate. Advocating for others has also been a passion of mine. I obtained a Bachelor’s in Social Work with a minor in criminal justice in 2021. In addition, I graduated from the advanced standing master’s in social work program this summer. I have spent my career journey challenging systems and breaking barriers. I have collaborated with nearby community board members to reduce violence in our communities. I have two years working with children and families as a behavioral health specialist and one year as a therapist trainee. I joined CIS Mission because it aligns with my purpose in life. CIS allows me to transform outcomes for students and families. A little about me, my best friend has four paws! I love dogs so much that I have three. I enjoy traveling, going on hikes, reading, running, and writing poems!
