My name is Taylor Gettman.  I was born and raised in Yakima, WA.  I have continued to reside in Yakima, as an adult.  I have a bachelor’s in social services with a Minor in Family Studies. In addition, I have a Mater’s degree in Social Work.  I have spent most of my career working with children and young adults within the child welfare system.  Prior to this opportunity with CIS, I spent the last 6 years, as a case-carrying social worker and program consultant for DCYF.  I am excited about my role with Communities In Schools.  Education has always been an important part of my life, especially growing up, as I come from a family of educators, including my grandparents, parents and my younger sister who have all become teachers.  I am looking forward to building a community of supports around students, staff, and families to thrive for future generations.  I enjoy summer and spending time on a boat, hiking or relaxing by a pool.
